AMMP + ORC = Light, Strong and Responsive The Diamondback Podium 7 is our top of the line carbon competition road racing machine. When we first set out planning this project we all agreed that the goal was to create the ultimate road frame. From the aggressive carbon shapes to the latest internal cable housing design, we made this product with no expenses spared. Some of the highlighted features include its sub 900 gram frame to the newly designed tapered Continuous Fiber Technology full carbon fork with integrated carbon crown race. The Podium will surely continue its legacy of winning races at the highest levels of the sport. The process began with many discussions on how to make a carbon road bike more user and performance friendly not just for the top racers of the world but also the weekend road warriors that ride thousands of miles a year. At the same time we strive to maintain the ride quality that is a trademark of Diamondback Podium bikes. We looked at the handling, feel, weight, geometry of each frame and each size so we can make sure every product has our signature Diamondback feel. We then do conceptual sketches, 3D Modeling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and then refine it some more before we even make the first steel mold. "So, I will start with the specs.......my 56cm frame came in at 1000
grams with all hardware (i.e bottom bracket, water bottle cage screws,
seat tube collar) and has its decals and matte finish. The fork is
stupid light at 290 grams!It is also made of UD carbon, no weave. This
to me separates this frame set from most and looks amazing in sunlight.
Now, how does it ride? Stiff and responsive! It's geometry, while racey,
is still easily ridable for regular rides and century journeys . Mutes
all but the harshest roads. What I like most about it though, is its a
Diamondback, which almost no one seems to ride as far as road bikes.
This makes my bike special and unique. It's not like owning a trek or
specialized or even giant, which you see everywhere! I just gotta say it
people, just because the pros ride it or it comes from a bike shop
doesnt mean it's best or even worth what you're paying. I'm in the
retial business and know how much mark-up products can have. So, if you
are looking to build up that dream 15lb or less bike, this is one of the
best frames, bar none! Just for reference, my frame is built up with
full Ultegra 6700, with the new Ultegra carbon pedals, specialized 20
gram carbon cages, Fizik Aliante VS saddle, carbon seat post, Williams
Cycling full UD carbon stem and bars along with Boyd Cycling 50mm carbon
clichers and my bike weighs 15.6 lbs. If you really want to read up on
